Brave Owl was born from a love of art and the belief that what we wear can be original, personal and beautiful. Every dress, top, tote and pouch that leaves our studio is painted entirely by hand.
Painting is a form of storytelling
Each piece begins as a blank canvas of natural cloth. Inspired by folk-art traditions and the natural world — blooming meadows, autumn maples, quiet northern lakes and the landscapes of Parry Sound, Ontario — every motif is sketched and then painted by hand, layer by layer.
We take pride in the fact that every little detail is brushwork, never a print or transfer. It is slow, intentional work — and it is exactly what makes each piece a singular original.
